Our school is located in the 22nd district of Vienna. It was built at the beginning of the 1980 and grew a lot in the last 28 years. There are now almost 1300 pupils aged from 10 to 18 years in 48 classes.

At the age of twelve every child has the possibility to focus on science (the BRG) or specialise in languages (the BG).
Our school does a lot for sports. We have a football and a volleyball academy. There are special classes for the footballers and volleyballers to make it easier for them to study and train.
Environment is a big topic for the Polgargymnasium too. Four years ago this school was the first in Vienna to get the "Umweltzeichen", an award for extraordinary achievements for environmental and social issues.
The school is not far from the river Danube and the Nationalpark "Donauauen". This proximitiy to nature and the experiences in cooperation with schools abroad (Comenius-Project and others) will help us to suceed with our project.
