Poslovno komercialna šola - a short history of it
As Jožica has already written a few words about our school, I decided to present a short history of it.
The early beginnings go back to 1869, when a certain group of traders payed for the classes. It was a kind of private school where only boys could be educated. There was room for 12 boys.
In 1891/92 there were 24 students who were taught by three teachers and later on, between 1918-1941 there were 462 students. Furtheron, between 1961-1966, 305 students were enrolled and as the number was increasing, a new school was built in 1974 and was expanded 1997. There are about 800 students from all around Slovenia, attending our (Poslovno-komercialna šola Celje) secondary commercial school in Celje at present time.
