European schools for a living planet
Slovenia
After Finland and Sweden, Slovenia is the third most forested country in Europe and is home of brown bears, lynx and wolf. It has part of four great European landscapes: The Alps, the Dinaric Alps, the Mediterranean and the Pannonian Plain, which makes the country one of the most diverse and interesting spots in Europe. So Slovenia also shows a very rich biodiversity, especially in the Karst areas in the southwest which are rich in unique flora and fauna.
The Slovenian Capital, Ljubljana, is a vivid place at the foot of the Alps. Jazz and world music festivals have especially boomed during the last years. It is home to about 280.000 Slovenians.
